I bring structure and freedom to all I do, including teaching. For close to two decades I've played gigs, studied classical piano, performed original music, released four albums, composed for commercial works, and spent time with friends and stellar musicians on countless small projects.
As a teacher, I work with everyone - children, retired adults who want to relearn piano, and new players of any age that might be intimidated by the process. I bring Andrew Ingkavet's Musicolor Method into the lessons -- an innovative and fun approach to help the youngest kids learn music. My overall approach is based on my studies with John Kamitsuka, an international concert pianist, and Abby Whiteside's insistence that music flow from the core rather than the fingers.
On occasion, I give teacher masterclasses abroad.
